These custom fly whisks are a great choice to commemorate your horse if you're not particularly a jewelry wearer or if you have a significant amount of hair left over after a keepsake or jewelry piece has already been made.
For $120.00:
The wooden handle is diamond willow- each branch I have is unique and will be 13 inches unless otherwise specified.
You choose what tone you would like the wood stained. The wood is then sealed to protect the wood from moisture, dirt, oil and the elements.
Your horse's name will be wood burned onto the handle any place you like. You can also choose to have you name wood burned or any other symbols/clipart (see choices down below). There is additional cost for wood burning anything beyond your horse's name.
Choose the tone of stain you would like the handle to be stained: Amber (pictured left), no stain (the natural color of diamond willow is almost white), or Cherry.
You can choose the color of the leather cord you would like you horse's hair wrapped with.
The length of the hair will depend on how long your horse's hair is. I will leave it long and you can trim it after you receive it.

What type of wood is the handle?
The wooden handle is diamond willow which is known for being strong and having characteristic knots and notches in the wood. Each branch of diamond willow is extremely unique- so no two pieces will be alike. The diamond willow was sustainably hand collected by me from the forests of the North Shore of Minnesota. The wood is carefully sanded, stained and sealed.
How do you attach the hair to the wooden handle?
First, I drill a hole down the center of the shaft of the branch and use an extremely strong epoxy glue to glue the hair down into the wood. Next, I take more hair and wrap it evenly around the outside of the end of the branch and wrap leather thread around that hair and glue it with the epoxy glue. I guarantee the hair will never move!
Can you wood burn more than just their name on the handle?
Absolutely! There are examples of different decals I can wood burn next to the horse's name or any other place you would like it wooden burned. I can also wood burn your name on there in the event that your whisk gets lost. Having your name on there may increase the chances of your whisk being returned to you.
How long will it take to complete my order?
It depends on how many orders there are before yours. Usually orders are completed in 2-4 weeks.
